Friday Briefing - 16/03/2018

Practised balancing using hands and feet / We have continued working on fractions
English:  We have begun writing a chronological report of a butterfly.  We have been using headings, sub-headings and our knowledge of Year 2 grammar.
Maths:  We have continued working on fractions; sorting fractions in to a Venn diagram and comparing greater than, less than and equal to, fractions of a number.
Science: We have learnt facts about butterflies and started learning about their life cycle with our caterpillars. 
PE: In gymnastics this week, we concentrated on balances using our hands and feet. 
Geography: Local geography- we wrote instructions using directional and positional language to guide a character around a fictional city.
RE: We will be walking over to Holy Trinity church for our year 2 Christian wedding and holding a reception in the fitzwilliam room.
Homework: write about your favourite part from the Year 2 wedding and explain why.
Next Thursday (22nd) is the key stage school discos.
Next Friday (23rd) is Sport Relief - children can come to school in sports wear.
Please ensure reading books and diaries are in school everyday.
Please remember to return homework and spelling books on a Tuesday.
