Friday Briefing - 24/11/2017

Made crafts to sell at the Christmas Bazaar / Alternate pronunciations and the split digraph i-e, o-e.
English:  We have written a diary entry from Christopher Columbus about his journey.  We have focussed on writing in the first person, past-tense and editing our work.
 
Phonics: All tricky words in phase 5a.
Alternate pronunciations and the split digraph i-e, o-e.
 
Maths: We have left our unit on partitioning and bar models for now and have begun a new unit on measure.  This week with have measured using non-standard units and have started using a meter stick. 
 
PE: Throwing and catching- this week we have been catching beanbags in small groups.  Please ensure you send your child with some tape if they cannot take their earrings out or we can use school masking tape to cover them.  
 
Design: We have made crafts to sell at the Christmas Bazaar. 
 
History: A timeline of Christopher Columbus.
 
Science: Sorting information about John McAdam to record into a non-chronological report.
 
RE: Some children will be completing their Christmas stories.  We will all be thinking of questions to ask during our trip to the Cathedral on Monday.
 
Homework: Measuring in cm.
 
Please ensure reading books and diaries are in school everyday.
