Friday Briefing

English: This week the children have been focusing on reading skills and applying them when answering comprehension questions about a text. We have looked at retrieval of answers and making inferences about a text.


Maths: We have been applying the knowledge in number, place value, addition and subtraction into a variety of word problems this week. We have been building up our fluency in applying these skills.


RE: This week we have been looking at the Hindu festival of Diwali. The children have enjoyed learning about the story of Rama and Sita and have sequenced the story. We have also been very creative in making Rangoli patterns. Unfortunately we didn’t have the powder that they use, so we decided to use objects from the classroom to make the symmetrical patterns. Here are some of our examples.

Monday 2nd December – Christmas Post box is open! Please mark the envelopes with the name of the child and class.

Friday 6th December – Christmas Bazaar – Children can be picked up from school at 2:30pm.
