Friday Briefing Notes 18th October 2019

18th October 2019  Year 2 Friday Briefing

English-We have been writing our own poetry. We used the poem ‘Ten things found in a Wizard’s pocket’ and created our own version called ‘Ten things found in a pirate’s treasure chest.’

Maths- The children have now moved onto adding and subtracting two digit numbers. We have used our knowledge of bar models to represent.

Science/Topic – We have designed and made our own pirate ships using recyclable materials. We have had lots of discussion about the properties the materials have and whether they would be suitable.

ICT – We will be thinking about internet safety and how we can keep ourselves safe whilst on the internet.

Thank you for preparing your children to come into school on their own and to be independent with putting their own things away. After the holidays, children will be coming into the classrooms independently. Thank you for your support this half term and we wish you an enjoyable half term.
