Celebrating Faith,
Learning and Success

St Botolph's Church of England Primary School

Friday briefing for Friday 27th September 2019

English: The children have been developing their understanding of verbs. Looking at the use of verbs in our class story as well as looking at tenses.

Maths: Our learning has moved on to  addition and subtraction. The children have been thinking of addition facts that will help to solve more complex equations.   At home please practise number bonds to 20. (two numbers that add together to make 20) e.g. 12 + 8

Geography: The children used their map reading and clue solving skills  to follow Captain Patches instructions to find his hidden treasure in the school. Unfortunately he had played a trick on us and there was no treasure in the box! We talked about disappointments and how they make people feel. When we returned to the classroom Captain Patch had left us a treat.

Science: We have now started our work on materials and the children will be using their knowledge to think of materials and designs for a pirate ship today.
