Growth Mindset: We will be building our independence when completing tasks and when entering school in the morning. Please make sure children are putting their own equipment away.

English: Our English lessons this half term are based on the story “The Night Pirates”. The children have thought about their own journey on a pirate ship and have written adjectives to describe things that they see.

Maths: The children have been working on the place value of two-digit numbers. EG. 73 =  70 + 3  and 60 + 13 etc

Homework:  Homework booklets have been sent out this includes all of the homework tasks for this half term. Booklets will be given out on a Thursday and should be returned to school the following Tuesday for marking.

Handwriting: To reach expected at the end of Year 2, there are particular handwriting requirements. Your child will receive the script to practise at home. Please encourage this.

Reading Books: Books should be placed in the basket for changing. Children should only be changing their books a maximum of twice a week. Please ensure that reading books are in school each day so that we can continue to listen to the children read in school.
