Friday Briefing - 15/09/2017

Captain Flinn
This week we have been working on walking quietly around school.
English: We have started to read the pirate story, Captain Flinn. We have created a Role on the Wall to mind map words to describe Captain Stubble's characteristics and appearance. We listed positional language as a group before using it to aid writing a set of instructions to find buried treasure.
Phonics: We have continued to look at the beginning of phase 5, whilst putting phase 4 into practice. We now have our phonics groups ready.
Maths: We have been partitioning two digit numbers and recognising tens and ones. We have used bead strings, number lines and white boards to help.
PE: Multiskills: spacial awareness, moving in different ways and hand and eye coordination.
Art: Designing a pirate treasure map.
Geography: Maps of the United Kingdom and identifying the countries that make up the UK.
RE: We are exploring the creation story.
Homework: Name and decorate.
Spellings: Spellings will go home every Thursday in a book to practise them in. Spelling tests will take place on a Tuesday. They will be in a separate book that is kept in school.
Please ensure reading books and diaries are in school everyday.
