St Botolph's Church of England Primary School

26th April 2019  Year 2 Friday Briefing

English: This week we have started reading a new book. ‘The Dark’ by Lemony Sniket. The children have been thinking about how the main character in the story is feeling and how we can think this story to other stories that we have read.

Maths: We have been looking at the place value of three digit numbers this week.

Reading: When your child reads at home please ensure to record this in their reading diary. The reading of non-school books can also be recorded.

Butterflies: The children were very excited to see the video of the Butterflies being released into the wild. Over the Easter holidays the chrysalises went home with Mr Joyce.

Homework and spellings: The homework books have not been sent home these will start next Thursday. This half term the children will have one short reading task and a maths task to complete each week.
Please return homework and spelling books by Tuesday.

Thank you for your support in leaving the children at the door instead of bringing them into the classroom, this is working really well with the children coming in and getting on with a task independently. By doing this it will also build their independence ready for Key Stage 2.
