Celebrating Faith,
Learning and Success

St Botolph's Church of England Primary School

14.10.2019 - Monday Briefing Blog

We have been practising counting back on a number line to subtract.

We have spent a lot of the week practising our class celebration.

Phonics – We have been learning the /er/ sound, practising reading and writing sounds and tricky words that we have learnt already.

Maths – Our unit is ‘addition and subtraction within 10’.

We have been practising counting back on a number line to subtract.  We have all been making subtraction stories from pictures, making sure that we always start with the whole.

6 – 1 = 5

English – Our book focus is ‘The Man on the Moon’.

We have been learning that adjectives are describing words and we’ve been using them to label the body parts of aliens.  We then put our adjectives into sentences.  ‘My alien has stripy horns and fluffy arms’.
