St Botolph's Church of England Primary School

23.09.2019 - Monday Briefing Blog

Our unit is ‘Numbers to 10’.

Phonics – We have been reading and writing words with /ai/, /ee/, /igh/, /oa/ and /oo/.  We’ve been practising adding sound buttons to words and reading alien words with these sounds in.

Maths –Our unit is ‘Numbers to 10’.

We have been practising counting in 2s and doubling numbers to 5.  We have also been halving sets of objects to 10, making sure that both parts are equal.  We have been learning that halving is the inverse of doubling.

English – Our class text is ‘Beegu.

We have been making our own scenes where we think Beegu lives.  We’ve been sequencing the pictures of the story and making story paths to help retell the story in the correct order.
