Learning and Success

St Botolph's Church of England Primary School

Monday Briefing - 03.06.2019

We have been counting objects and pictures in groups of ten and ones.

Phonics – We went through and practised any common mistakes made in the phonics screening practice.  For example reading ‘ro’ as ‘or’.

Maths – Our unit is ’50 to 100 and beyond.’

We have been counting objects and pictures in groups of ten and ones.  We have been recording these numbers in a place value chart.  We have also been representing numbers using the dienes equipment.

Literacy – Poetry

We have been writing poems which included similes about ourselves and someone close to us.  I.e.

‘My hair is long like spaghetti.’

‘My mum’s eyes are blue like the sky.’

 Notices – Woburn 4th June

Please bring a packed lunch (unless provided for by school), water bottle, suncream, sun hat and a waterproof coat (if forecast rain).  Children must be in school uniform but can wear trainers.  We will be back at school just before 3pm.
