Friday Briefing - 11/05/18
This week we have read Little Red Riding Hood, been consolidating our phase 2 and phase 3 sounds, and looked at ordinal numbers
This week as part of our topic we have read the story of Little Red Riding Hood. The children have written Wanted posters to help catch the wolf. Some children have also had a go at re-writing the story in their own words. In the role play area the children have been able to act out the story and in the construction area they have built traps for the wolf.
In phonics this week we have been consolidating our phase 2 and phase 3 sounds. The children have also applied their phonic knowledge in their writing. We are encouraging the children to be more independent when they are working.
In maths this week we have looked at ordinal numbers (1st, 2nd, 3rd…….). At the end of the week we focused on adding using a number line to help us. We are practising counting on when adding.
•Next Tuesday we are planning to go for a walk through the woods in the grounds of the Orton Hall Hotel. If you would like to join us, please let us know in advance.
•Please could you check if your child has a school coat at home that isn’t theirs as a couple of children have lost their coats.
