Mother’s Day / Tricky words, both reading and writing them

This week we have talked about Mother’s Day and getting ready for our special Mother’s Day Collective Worship. Throughout the week children have had the opportunity to make cards and other gifts for their mums.

In phonics this week we have focused on tricky words, both reading and writing them. Children have applied their knowledge of these words to their writing during freeflow.

In maths this week we have been continuing with 1 more/greater and 1 less/fewer. They have been applying this to some maths games. The children have also practised estimating.

•We are looking forward to our trip to Sacrewell farm next Tuesday. Having visited the farm recently we strongly advise that the children wear wellingtons. We have also decided that they should all wear trousers. We suggest that all children wear a pair of old trousers, these do not have to be school trousers.
•If you have not ordered a school packed lunch you will need to provide one for your child. They will also require adequate drinks for the day.
