Thursday Briefing Blog - 03.10.2019

This week as part of our topic we have been thinking about how we change from baby to adult.

Topic    This week as part of our topic we have been thinking about how we change from baby to adult.

Phonics  In phonics this week we have continued phase 2 of Letters and Sounds. We have taught the letters ‘p’ ‘i’ and ‘n’ and their corresponding sounds. The children looked at a range of objects beginning with those sounds.

The children have practised blending some of the sounds we’ve learnt so far to make words. For example, s-a-t ; p-a-t.

Maths This week in maths we have been looking at numbers 1, 2 and 3. The children have practised counting using one to one correspondence. We also encourage the children to respond using full sentences. For example, there are three mice.

•Harvest festival – please could you send donations in for harvest festival next week. There is a prize for the class that collects the most tins!

•Parent consultations are on 15th and 17th of October. Look out for a Parentmail with details on how to book.
