This week as part of our topic we have been thinking about families. At the beginning of the week we introduced Kipper and his family to all of the children.

This week as part of our topic we have been thinking about families. At the beginning of the week we introduced Kipper and his family to all of the children.

Phonics  In phonics this week we have begun phase 2 of Letters and Sounds. We have taught the letters ‘s’ ‘a’ and ‘t’ and their corresponding sounds. The children looked at a range of objects beginning with those sounds. The children practised forming the letters correctly. Please can you support this at home, for example when name writing.

Reading  Please could we ask that you write in the reading diary when you have listened to your child read. Also, could you place the book and diary in the reading basket when it is your child’s reading day. We put the basket on their morning challenge table to help remember.

Maths This week in maths we have been looking at repeating patterns, including shape, colour or size.
