Celebrating Faith,
Learning and Success

St Botolph's Church of England Primary School

School Information

St Botolph's School is a Church of England Voluntary Controlled School which means that we work with the Diocese of Ely and Peterborough Education Authority. We uphold Christian beliefs and have strong links with our local church. These Christian beliefs can be seen in our policies, in the daily life of our school and as we celebrate collective worship together.

The staff attach great importance to providing  a welcoming, friendly and supportive environment with Christian values. Showing concern and care are central to the ethos of our school and our teaching. We believe in developing children's self-confidence, self-esteem and self-discipline so they may articulate their feelings and ideas. Opportunities for children to broaden their social skills are promoted to enable them to build relationships with other pupils and adults and be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others. Children are encouraged to achieve and to accept increasing responsibility. Children are encouraged to achieve high academic standards in all subjects. Our staff have developed a curriculum designed to ensure a balanced and stimulating programme of study for all children at the school. As well as aiming for high academic standards, we try to give our children opportunities and experiences which they will always remember, within a friendly and caring environment.

Opportunities are provided outside the classroom for children to participate in a range of extra-curricular activities and take part in school visits and inter-school events as well as dramatic productions. Music plays a strong part in school.
