Grandparents Gardening Week

Food for Life – Grandparents gardening week

As part of our work with Food for Life we are celebrating Grandparents Gardening Week during w/c 19th March 2018.

We invite any grandparents or a significant other adult who would like to volunteer to help us with our school garden and classroom planting areas into school on Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd March 2018.

Our aim is to prepare the school garden by clearing the back of it, creating a hard area from slabs on which to stand a shed and a compost bin and paint the fence so that it is ready for the children to sow, plant and harvest in the summer and autumn terms. We also want to dig over the soil in the small garden areas outside the classrooms so the children can plant in their class gardens.
