St Botolph’s vs Nene Park Academy (Yr7s)

Wednesday 15th March, we walked up to Nene Park Academy to play a friendly football match against the year 7s. This match was a seven a-side, we played 20 minutes each half.

Considering our school team was made up of year 5s and 6s we dominated the game right from the start. Harris Khan was the first to find the back of the net and set us up for a 1-0 lead. Just before half time NPA clawed a goal back making it 1-1 but that was not going to stop us.

Half time approached; after a short drink’s break and a quick tactics chat we were back on the field striving for another goal which we sure did and it came from Louis Barrett. We were winning 2-1 when the final whistle blew.

What a great result for us  - winning against a team of children who are older than us.

St Botolph’s vs Woodston Primary

Thursday 6th April, we travelled to Woodston Primary School for another game of football, our confidence was high and we were looking for another win.

The game started well for us and by half time we were 2-0 up with goals from Waylon Renecke and Charlie Jacobs. But they were soon on the attack in the early stages of the second half which caused our keeper Oliver Smith to pull off an amazing save which prevented Woodston from scoring.

We were once again dominating most of the possession and Harriss Khan managed to find the back of the net from a cross provided by Ryan Willson making the score 3-0. The final whistle blew, another great win! We were all buzzing, going into our Easter holidays on a high.

We would like to say a special “Thanks” to Mr Smith from NPA who took us to the match in NPA's minibus, Mrs Roe for coaching us and also the Parent supporters who came to watch.

Both games reported by Ryan Willson (Year 5)

Jacob Nunn, Harris Khan, Louis Barrett, Josh Bennett, Oliver Smith, Lennon Hennessey-Quentin, Ryan Willson, Luke Gilbert, Danny Hall and Waylon Renecke.
