Friday Briefing - 01/12/2017

English:  We have written a recount of our trip to the cathedral. 
We have read the poem, Custard the Dragon, then watched and taken part in the performance of it. 
This week in grammar we will continue using contracted and expanded forms of words in our sentence writing. 
Phonics: All tricky words in phase 5a.  Spelling tricky words some, come, were, there.
Writing words using the split digraph o-e and a-e, then putting into a sentence.   
Maths: We have been estimating and measuring objects around the classroom using cm.  We have discussed the importance of accuracy when measuring.  
Design: We have designed and made posters to advertise  our Christmas Bazaar games and decorations.  Those of us who hadn't finished our islands have painted them.
History: We all completed the timeline of Christopher Columbus' life.
Homework: To write about your favourite part of the trip to the cathedral and draw an accompanying picture to support.
Christmas Bazaar tonight- 3:15pm in the hall. 
Please ensure reading books and diaries are in school everyday.
Please remember to return homework and spelling books on a Tuesday.
