FRIDAY BRIEFING - 20/10/2017

English:  We retold the story of Captain Flinn and have improved our independent editing skills.
Phonics: We have practised this weeks spellings, ph (dolphin) and ew (nephew) have been a focus this week.  We revisited the wh sound and learnt tricky words, said, so, have, like.
Maths: addition of three, 1 digit numbers.  We have discussed the strategies used to calculate the answer: number bonds to 10, near doubles.
PE: Multiskills:  we played more team games with a focus on ball control. Please ensure you send your child with some tape if they cannot take their earrings out or we can use school masking tape to cover them.  
ICT: we have created simple algorithms by creating a set of instructions to get from one place to the next. 
Geography: We wrote a world fact file that included information about each continent. 
Science: we researched information about materials that can be recycled.
Homework: no set homework this week however, please enjoy reading some books.
Return from Half Term break: Monday 30th October. 
Please ensure reading books and diaries are in school everyday.
Please remember to return homework and spelling books on a Tuesday.
