Friday Briefing - 13/10/2017

English:  We have completed our story maps for Captain Flynn and the Pirate Dinosaurs and are now retelling the story focussing on our editing skills.
 
Phonics: We have practised this weeks spellings by using missing letter, and cover, write games.  ue (rescue) and aw (drawer) have been a focus this week.  We have been working on the wh sound (what, when, which etc).
 
Maths: Addition and subtraction of two, two digit numbers using partitioning. 
 
PE: Multiskills: Whole class games- working on coordination by rolling a ball to one another. Please ensure you send your child with some tape if they cannot take their earrings out or we can use school masking tape to cover them.  
 
ICT: We have written some simple commands in coding. 
 
Design:  We have watched clips of how to create an island and have started to think about a materials list.
 
Geography: We made a  file using the information learnt over the past weeks about continents and their climfactate.
 
RE: We are continuing our research on why Christian's celebrate Harvest by reading Ruth and Naomi. 
 
Science: Materials and how they can change shape (bending, manipulating). 
 
Homework: Look for materials around the house, what are they made of?  You can present your findings in your own way.
 
Please ensure reading books and diaries are in school everyday.
Please remember to return homework and spelling books on a Tuesday.
