Friday Briefing - 08/09/2017

This week we have been getting to know Year 2 routines, adults and children.
English:  We have discussed our Summer break and written a recount of what we did.  We focussed upon capital letters and full stops in our writing.  In handwriting we practised 
Phonics: We have stayed as a class in phonics for the moment.  We have recapped tricky words, high frequency words and have begun to look at the beginning of Phase 5.
Maths: Numbers within 100 is our focus.  We have begun with place value this week.
PE: Multiskills.  Travelling in different ways.  Please leave PE kits in school for the term.
Art: The children have designed and created their own Christmas cards.
All children have been heard read this week before choosing books ready to send home today. Each child will be heard once a week one to one, and once a week in Guided Reading. 
Homework: To write a manifesto for being a class council representative.
