Monday Briefing - 15.10.18

Phonics – We focused on the diagraph ur and the trigraphs air and ure.  We practised reading and writing words with these sounds.

Maths – Our unit is ‘addition and subtraction’

We have been combining two sets of objects and pictures to find the whole.  We then moved onto to adding by counting using 3 methods; cubes, numberline and putting a number in our head and counting on.  We have been writing the matching equations.

English – Our book focus is Beegu’.

Before reading the story we used one of the illustrations to make predictions about the main character.  We also used collage materials to create the place where we think she has come from.  After reading a part of the story we used drama to explore how she felt at different points.
