Monday Briefing - 03.12.2018

Phonics – We have been reading and writing words with more than one syllable like sandpit and windmill.  We have also been learning to read the tricky words little, one, were and there.

Maths – Our unit is ‘shapes and patterns.’

We have been using positional language to describe where objects are positioned.  We have also been following directional instructions, ‘forwards’, ‘backwards’, ‘right’, ‘left’ and ‘quarter turn’.  We had a go at giving a partner instructions to direct them to a particular place.

English – Our book focus is ‘The Jolly Postman’.

We have been writing recounts of the Fairy Tale party we had on Monday.  We used time conjunctions to help us to order what we did.  Goldilocks sent us a thank you card and we wrote her questions to find out what she thought about our party.

KS1 disco – 5th December (Please place outfits on pegs ready for the afternoon).

Pantomime – 10th December

Christmas jumper and dinner day – 14th December
