Monday Briefing - 19.11.2018

Phonics – We have been practising reading and writing cvcc and ccvc words with diagraphs.  We have also been learning the tricky words so and said.

Grammar – We have been using ‘and’ to extend our sentences.

Maths – Our unit is ‘shapes and patterns.’

We have been using vocabulary ‘faces’, ‘edges’ and ‘vertices’ to describe the 3D shapes.  Using words like ‘curved’, ‘straight’ and ‘flat’ have helped us when describing their properties.  We have also been sorting 3D shapes based on their properties.  We revisited 2D shapes and their names too.

English – Our book focus is ‘The Jolly Postman’.

We designed our own carriage for Cinderella and used adjectives to describe what each part looked like.  We then used adjectives to describe the Wolf dressed as Grandma.  We use our adjectives to write sentences for Little Red Riding Hood.
