Monday Briefing - 05.11.2018

Phonics – We have started phase 4 which involves being able to read and spell longer words with the sounds from the previous phases.  Last week we practised reading and writing cvcc words like tent.

Grammar – We have been adding capital letters and full stops to setences.

Maths – Our unit is ‘addition and subtraction.’

We have been practising using a numberline to subtract by counting back.  We have been matching equations with number line pictures to consolidate what we have learnt.

English – Our book focus is ‘The Jolly Postman’.

Before reading the story we made predictions about where we thought the postman might be delivering his letters and making lists about what could be in his bag.  We read the first part of the story and wrote a reply letter to Goldilocks, pretending to be Baby Bear.
