Thursday Briefing - 27.09.2018

Topic    This week as part of our topic the children have been drawing pictures of their families. We have also now completed our display of all the children’s photos so that the children can see how they have changed.

Phonics  In phonics this week we have begun phase 2 of Letters and Sounds. We have taught the sounds ‘s’ ‘a’ and ‘t’. The children looked at a range of objects beginning with those sounds. The children practised forming the letters correctly, please can you support this at home, for example when name writing.

Reading  Please could we ask that you write in the reading diary when you have listened to your child read. Also, could you place the book and diary in the reading basket when it is your child’s reading day. We put the basket on their morning challenge table to help remember.

Maths This week in maths we have been looking at repeating patterns, including shape; colour or size.
