Friday Briefing - 23/03/2018

This week we have been learning about wild animals.   As an introduction we read the story Giraffe’s Can’t Dance.  We then thought about what the animals are like and have been describing them.  Our Class challenge this week has been to write clues, so that the rest of the class can guess which animal they have drawn.

In phonics this week we have learnt the ‘ur’ and ‘ow’ sounds. We also had a focus on the tricky words you and are. The children had slips of paper telling them ‘Can you go to the …..’ and they had to find the picture of the animal they were asked to look for which was hidden somewhere in the classroom.

In maths this week we have continued looking at grouping and sharing. We have also been counting in twos and tens.

•Sport Relief today – still some wrist bands available.
•We have one or two items of clothing outside near the gate, please could you check if any of these belong to your child.
•Orton hall parking.  Please ensure you park only in designated spaces.  We may lose access if parents continue to park on yellow lines and where it says no parking.
•P.E. bags can be taken home to was over Easter.
•We are going on a Prayer walk next Wednesday morning if anyone would like to come and join us. We will be walking to Holy Trinity, leaving school at 9.15.
