Friday Briefing - 12/01/2018

Our topic for this half term is Superheroes. This week we have read the story ‘Supertato’ and the children have become familiar with the main characters in the story. In the creative area the children have had the opportunity to make their own superhero mask. Our role play area is a den for Superheroes.

In phonics this week we have been begun phase 3 of letters and sounds. We have introduced the children to the sounds ‘j’ and ‘v’ and we have also looked at phase 3 tricky words ‘we, me, be and he.’ The children have used their phonics to write speech bubbles for our Supertato characters.

In maths this week we have looked at the numbers 7, 8 and 9. We have also looked at conservation of number, where the children see that a given quantity of objects remains the same even if the way it is arranged changes.

•Parents’ evenings are on Tuesday 16th and Thursday 18th next week.
•Our Story Café will be on Wednesday 24th of January from 1pm until 2.30. Parents are invited to stay for Collective Worship if they would like to.
