Nativity Rehearsal - 17/11/2017

Topic: At the beginning of the week we listened to the Nativity story, so that the children are familiar with it ready to begin our play practice. We have also begun to learn some of the songs from the play.

Phonics: In phonics this week we have looked at the last of the phase 2 sounds, the digraphs ‘ll’ and ‘ss’. The children practised using their phonics to read simple sentences and also had a go at writing words ending in our new sounds. We have also introduced the children to the phase 2 tricky words: I, to, go, no, the

Maths: At the beginning of the week we looked again at the whole/part model for adding two groups of objects together. We are now starting to look at weight and measure. The children have ordered objects from tallest to shortest.
