FUNNY BONES - 13/10/217

Friday Briefing 13.10.17

Topic: This week as part of our topic we have looked at the story Funny Bones.  We used the story to think about our bodies and have labelled the parts of the body in our writing. The children also had the opportunity to make a skeleton using craft straws.

Phonics: This week as part of our phonics learning we have continued with phase 2 of letters and sounds. We have introduced the children to the letters ‘m’, ‘d’ and ‘g’, and their corresponding sounds and actions. The children have made monkey masks and have enjoyed practising writing their letters and beginning to blend them together to read simple words.

Maths: This week as part of our maths learning we have continued looking at numbers 1-4. We have been practising our 1 to 1 correspondence when counting. We have practised writing the numerals 1-4 and we have been singing number songs.
