Pass the Jam Jim - 29/09/2017

Friday Briefing 29.09.17

Topic: This week as part of our topic we have looked at the story Pass the Jam Jim. On Tuesday the children all made jam sandwiches, which they enjoyed eating in the classroom.

Phonics: This week as part of our phonics learning we have moved on to phase 2 of letters and sounds. We have introduced the children to the letters ‘s’ ‘a’ and ‘t’ and their corresponding sounds and actions. The children have sorted objects according to their beginning sounds.

Maths: This week as part of our maths learning we have been looking at patterns. The children have made a variety of different repeating patterns. At the beginning of the week we looked at patterns involving alternating colours. As the week progressed we moved on to look at patterns using different shapes or different sizes.

•The children should have brought home a ‘learning log’ yesterday. This week we would like the children to decorate their learning log. We ask that these are returned each Tuesday, so that we can look at them and stick in the following week’s task.
•Please put reading books and journals in the basket on your morning challenge table on your reading/changing days.  When you read their reading book at home please record it in their journal.

•PE – if your child wears earrings they should be taken out for PE or covered with tape. They should also have hair tied up and any jewellery removed for safety reasons.
