Thursday Briefing - 08.11.2018

Topic This week we have been learning about Diwali.  We watched a clip of how Hindus celebrate and the children have been making their own Diwali sweets.

Phonics  In phonics this week we have taught the sounds ‘h’, and ‘f’.  We are using the letter sounds to read and write simple words in all our phonics sessions.  We have also learnt the tricky word ‘to’.

Maths This week in maths we have been focusing on adding two quantities of objects up to 6.  We have introduced the children to the part, part, whole model that we use through school to help the children understand the relationship between numbers when adding and subtracting.
